Volunteer assistant Welfare Officers- Two candidates.

Role Purpose

The Welfare Officer is responsible for promoting a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all children and young people involved in the club. They act as the main point of contact for safeguarding and welfare concerns.


Key Responsibilities

1. Safeguarding & Child Protection

  • Ensure the club complies with safeguarding policies (e.g., FA or local governing body guidelines).
  • Act as the first point of contact for any concerns about a child’s welfare.
  • Respond appropriately to concerns and escalate to relevant authorities when necessary.
  • Maintain confidential, accurate records of any incidents or concerns.

2. Policy Implementation

  • Support the development and regular review of safeguarding and welfare policies.
  • Ensure all coaches, volunteers, and staff understand and follow these policies.
  • Promote best practice in child protection across the club.

3. Communication

  • Be accessible to players, parents/carers, and coaches for welfare-related matters.
  • Clearly communicate safeguarding procedures to all members of the club.
  • Liaise with external organisations (e.g., local authorities, governing bodies) when required.

4. Recruitment & Training

  • Support safer recruitment practices, including DBS checks where required.
  • Encourage and monitor safeguarding training for coaches and volunteers.
  • Keep records of qualifications and certifications up to date.

5. Promoting Inclusion & Wellbeing

  • Encourage a culture of respect, equality, and inclusion within the team.
  • Address issues such as bullying, discrimination, or inappropriate behaviour.
  • Support the emotional and social wellbeing of young players.

  • Basic understanding of safeguarding (training can be provided)
  • Organised and reliable
  • Commitment to promoting child welfare and inclusion

Time Commitment

  • Flexible, typically a few hours per week
  • Attendance at some training sessions or matches as needed
  • Occasional meetings or training courses

Training & Support

  • Safeguarding/child protection training (often provided by the FA or local association)
  • Ongoing support from club committee and governing bodies

Reporting To

  • Club Committee / Chairperson

Important Notes

  • This is a volunteer role
  • An enhanced DBS check is required
  • The role is essential to ensuring a safe environment for young players

Volunteer Treasurer Wanted – Join Our Football Club! ⚽

We’re looking for a reliable and organised Treasurer to join our football club committee.

Role responsibilities include:
• Managing the club’s finances and keeping clear records
• Collecting subs 
• Paying league fees, and club expenses
• Providing simple financial updates to the committee

What we’re looking for:
• Someone trustworthy and organised
• Basic confidence with numbers/spreadsheets
• Good communication with the team and committee

This is a voluntary role and a great way to support local grassroots football. No formal accounting experience required – just commitment and reliability.
